Salmon Bay Clam Chowder

1 cup onions, diced
¾ cup celery, diced
½ cup green pepper, diced
1 cup potatoes, diced
2 cups clams, chopped
2 qts clam nectar or water
1 cup tomato puree
4 TBLS flour   ½ tsp pepper
dash each : thyme, curry powder, chili powder pinch of oregano
1 small bay leaf
1 tsp paprika

Boil Potatoes until half cooked.  Sauté onions, celery pepper in bacon fat or butter until light brown (I do it in bacon bits), add flour and all seasoning mix well.  Add to potatoes and nectar and simmer until done.  Then add clams and tomato puree, and warm. Salt to taste.
